O’Hayer Joins WABE
January 16th, 2009 Posted in localI apologize for being a bit behind on the 8-ball, but I’m pleased to congratulate APC president and WXIA/11 Alive news reporter Denis O’Hayer on his new position as weekday afternoon host of WABE 90.1 FM, Atlanta’s public ration station.
Starting February 2, O’Hayer will be local host of Public Radio International’s The World from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., NPR’s All Things Considered from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and American Public Media’s MarketPlace from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
O’Hayer has been with WXIA-TV for 11 years, covering politics and government, including the Georgia legislature. According to the press release announcing his new hosting duties, he began working with PBA 30, WABE’s sister television station, as host of several political specials and The Layman’s Lawyer, a weekly show about how the law affects everyday life. In 1996, he also became host and producer of PBA 30’s Atlanta This Week.
